Morphological Characteristics of Biodegradation of a Resorbable Membrane during Reconstructive Surgical Treatment in Dynamics

Guided bone regeneration (GBR) is a valid and eff ective method used in maxillofacial surgery. Almost
any defect in the jaw bone tissue, be it a socket of an extracted tooth or a bone defi ciency after a
cystectomy, can be repaired with GBR. A key role in this technique is played by barrier membranes,
which limit the area of proliferation of new bone from ingrowth of soft tissue elements.
